Year 6

Over the past few weeks we have been working on our Maths and English skills. We have done lots of maths and English exercises to improve our speed, and find faster ways to solve things.

In literacy we have been working on our writing skills, paragraphs and punctuation. Also we have been doing introductions for newspapers, stories and writing from different points of view.

We’ve found good ways for remembering connectives such as:

H-owever

A-lthough

N-evertheless

D-espite

S-ince

F-urthermore

E-ventually

E-ven though

T-ime past

F-inally

O-bviously

O-nce

T-ragically

M-eanwhile

I-mportantly

S-ometime later

S-uddenly

For maths we have been practicing our mental maths, maths papers (with and without a calculator). We also have been studying percentages, fractions and decimals.
