Dear Parents
Last Wednesday, some representatives from the Mahdlo Youth Centre came to talk to our children in assembly. Mahdlo will be opening shortly near the Bluecoat school and their aim is to provide a range of activities for young people in a purpose built building.
They will be running a Junior club for children from the ages of 8 – 12 years every day, all year round.
Although Mahdlo is supported by Oldham council, it is a charity and relies on voluntary funds to enable it to operate.
Along with many schools in Oldham, we are participating in a ‘Mad for Mahdlo’ week in school. We are asking the children to come to school dressed in yellow on Friday, 24th February and in return, we are asking for a donation of 50p. Monies raised will go to the Mahdlo Charitable Trust.
A competition is being run during the week and the Oldham Chronicle will be awarding a prize for the ‘most yellow’ school.
We hope that you will be able to support us in this activity.
